The Issues of Single Women

1

Just because you’re going through life flying solo doesn’t mean that you don’t have responsibilities to worry about. Married women always tell you to enjoy what you have because right now, you’re not yet answerable to anyone else. Well, they may have just forgotten how single life felt like because you do have a lot to deal with as well.

A lot of single women think that while they may earn enough, the extra cash isn’t going anywhere. What’s the point of working when you have nothing to spend it on? Well, it may be time to think about taking calculated risks. Invest in something such as stocks or the forex market. Just do a little bit of research because you don’t want to lose everything that you’ve worked so hard for. Remember the basic rule of thumb as well: don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Your portfolio of investments should achieve balance and you can do this by spreading it around. You’ll never know what will happen in the future. Hence, this is your way to have a backup plan.

Single women tend to spend and spend, not thinking about whether or not they have enough for the next payday. You don’t want to be strapped for cash until your salary comes in. Sometimes, the amount you see on the ATM shocks and pleases you. So, you go on a shopping spree, thinking that you won’t get tempted after that one day. The truth is that a lot of things can happen with just a few weeks’ time. So, draw up your budget schedule even before you get paid. Stick to the plan and don’t dig into your savings unless it’s a real emergency. Save ten percent of what you earn and deposit it in a separate account. Then, pay your bills before anything else. Also allot some to spoil yourself because you also deserve to enjoy your pay.

It’s time to be money savvy as well. You have your credit card to fall back on in case of an emergency. Still, this drains a lot of your salary because you will have to pay for what you’ve purchased, plus interest. Pay what you can and make sure that you go beyond the minimum payment requirement. You don’t want to be waist-deep in debt and only end up paying for the interest fees. In fact, don’t use your card at all.

Some women, on the other hand, aren’t earning enough. They love what they do but if they want financial stability, then they need to move to a more lucrative business, which could be completely unrelated to what they do. If you fall in this category, you owe it to yourself to realize your value. Scout around and see where you can get better offers. You can also decide to do something on your own after work, something that you love but doesn’t take too much of your time. It’s all about doing a little bit of research because you do have accomplishments you can be proud of.
