You try so hard at losing weight. For some people, this comes naturally. They can maintain their slim figure and still indulge a bit, but with you, it seems as if you gain weight just by smelling the food. This can annoy you to no end, but you don’t need to worry much as long as you incorporate little tricks into your eating habits. Yes, you do have to watch what you eat, and yes, you still have to exercise, but nature has provided you with the help you need to fast-track your efforts. So, stop blaming your genes for all your weight woes because you can go past this with a little bit of discipline from your end. Going to the gym will certainly help you avoid obesity. So, start by becoming healthier and don’t make excuses.
Studies have also proven that calcium can help you a lot when it comes to losing weight. In fact, those people with more calcium in their system lost 60 percent more weight than those who didn’t. So, set a goal and take at least 1,000 mg of calcium on a daily basis. Not only is this nutrient good for your teeth, but it certainly makes dieting a lot easier. Avoid supplements as much as you can. Rather, go for the natural food sources. Eat fish and greens when you can.
Also make sure that you can see what you eat. Sure, it’s nice to devour in a tub of popcorn in a dark theater. You actually don’t realize how much you’ve consumed because you’re not paying attention to what you eat. So, try to keep your order at a minimum and if you do decide to eat at home, try to stay away from the TV, at least until you finish your meal. You have to take note of the portions you’ll be having and you won’t be able to do that if you’re focused on something.
More importantly, try to stay away from alcoholic beverages before a meal. This may be a little hard to do, especially when you’re in a party and drinks are served with the appetizers. While this does sound a little harmless, you can actually wreak havoc with the diet plan you had in mind. Have you noticed that you actually eat more when you’re carrying a drink in your hand? So, if you are serious about your diet in any way, it’s time to think about what you take because these little tweaks could spell either your success or your failure.
Instead of alcoholic beverages, try low fat milk. This could pretty much make you feel full, and when you eat, chew slowly and give your brain time to digest what you’ve already eaten. This may require more time, but you’ll avoid stuffing yourself with too much and feeling bloated at the end. Your hips will certainly thank you for it as well. And when you do these things consistently, it will eventually become second-nature to you and you won’t even think twice about it.
