<description>I think the biggest fallacy being advocated by the personal development arena is that if you just do this this and this, write down your SMART goals-all your problems are resolved and you go on living a happily ever after goal enriched life. This is hogwash! Life is not static, but ever changing, ever evolvng, circumstances and events (good, bad and/or indifferent) impact our lives daily, weekly, monthly, etc. As circumstances change and impact our lives, so do our goals, dreams and aspirations change as well. Your NEW goals in life must reflect your NEW reality in life NOW-not 6 months ago when you first wrote down your goals.

Rule #1 Goal Setting/personal development should not be viewed as once in a life time event-but instead should be viewed as a life-long process, and your SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely) goals should be broken down into both SHORT and LONG term goal setting. Your goals should be reviewed every 6 months at a minimum.

Rule# 2 Make sure your life goals MESH and align with your overall mission in life. if your passion and mission in life is to be a painter, then start making a goal setting plan that will get you there (both short and long term). What action steps do you take today, tomorrow next month?

Rule#3 Just having SMART short and long term goals and a life mission does not gurantee that you will achieve your goals, you have to develop the faith and belief in yourself or in God that you will achieve your goals in life. Irrespective of your spiritual and belief views-everyone believes in something or in someone. If you CAN believe it-you can achieve it! Conversely, if you don&#039;t believe you WILL-more likely than not you WON&#039;T.

Best-
