When Being Cocky Pays

1

So, you’ve worked hard to get to where you are now. You’ve also done your best to look and feel good, and you know you’ve won over the admiration of some. Does that mean you wilt like a wallflower or are you going to walk around with your head held high? You need to show off your confidence and you shouldn’t care about what other people think. As long as you haven’t stepped on anyone on your way up the ladder of success and as long as your conversations don’t revolve around you, you need to have pride because, after all, you’ve earned it.

People used to think that only the male population had the right to be cocky. Things have certainly changed nowadays because women have been fighting for equality, and they’ve won. They’ve proven themselves to be competent leaders. Still, don’t confuse the word with being egotistic. Rather, it’s all about having the confidence and knowing that you’re capable of achieving a lot of things. Just blow your own horn the right away and instead of getting haters, you’ll see that you’ll have a lot of people admiring you for who you are, and that’s because you’ve inspired them to do the same. Often enough, you avoid being cocky because some people might actually make fun of you. You’ll be judged and labeled as an arrogant jerk.

Attitude plays a big role in helping you achieve all your dreams. Just remember that there’s a big difference between good and bad cockiness. When you feel sexy and it somehow translates itself through your actions, people are more drawn to you. You go overboard, however, when you promote yourself at the expense of other people. So, be careful and draw the line because you don’t want the others running the other way whenever they see you. Carry yourself with pride, and not arrogance. More importantly, consider yourself lucky because not too many can pull it off. You’d be surprised at just how many people don’t deem themselves to be worthy of much. Yes, you do have your own set of insecurities, but you don’t let these get in the way of life.

So, the next time people walk up to you, know that you’re a great person. It helps to face the mirror and say what you think out loud. Positive self-talk goes a long, long way in promoting confidence. This actually boosts your emotions because you will actually believe that you’re worthy of high prices. Just don’t fish for compliments because these will naturally come to you as long as are confident. And when someone actually praises you, you can blush and smile, but never forget to say thank you. Say it sincerely and let them know how much you appreciate it. Positivity begets positivity. In fact, think of yourself as that one person who inspires others to do the same. Cockiness pays when done right because you can influence others to be just like you, and when this happens, be just as proud of them as they are with you.
